When you stay in our self catering Barn, you may decide to eat out at any of the three village pubs. All provide good food. Youlgrave also boasts two cafes and three shops. The Village Shop can supply a huge variety of fresh produce and the Post Office is also a great source for books, drinks and cash! Check them out before you come.

The Old Bakery is in the Derbyshire Dales. A beautiful place to visit. There is so much to see and do here. Once visited never forgotten!
The Old Bakery is in the centre of the beautiful Peak District village of Youlgrave. Youlgrave in the White Peak is ideally placed for walking the Limestone Way, and the White Peak Way which pass through the village. Youlgrave is set between the picturesque rivers Lathkill and Bradford in the Derbyshire Dales. It is a fabulous location for visiting many attractions as well as walking, cycling and relaxing in the many tea shops.
WALKING ROUTES FROM OUR PROPERTY AND WITHIN EASY REACH
LATHKILL DALE The River Lathkill is a beautiful clear fast running river with brown trout and many small invertebrates as well as Dippers and Grey Wagtails which bob in and out of the rocks and vegetation.
The walk is beautifully described in the book written by Andrew McCloy ' Walking in Youlgrave' where there are 10 circular explained. This book is available from the Post Office in Youlgrave.
The walks range from 1 mile to 11 miles in length and there are several routes which include the River Lathkill which vary in length. Several include the possibility of a drink and food in either a pub or cafe.
THE LIMESTONE WAY This is a 46 mile long walk from Castleton to Rocester which includes places such as Miller's Dale, Monyash, YOULGREAVE, Winster and Matlock along its route. The whole route has been published by www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/limestoneway

PLACES TO VISIT
Youlgrave is ideally situated for Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall [NT]. Extensive retail therapy is available in Bakewell, Ashbourne, Buxton, the new Peak Village Outlets or Masson Village in Matlock Bath. Lathkill Dale skirts the village to the north while, to the south, Bradford Dale meanders. Both are excellent starts for walkers wishing to explore the White Peak.
